Family farming in São Paulo reached a new record in 2025. The Paulista Program for Social Interest Agriculture (PPAIS) moved R$ 50.5 million in public purchases, surpassing the total invested in the last four years. Thousands of families find in the program the security of having someone to sell to, guaranteed income, and the chance to continue producing with dignity. The project aims to guarantee a market for family farmers and cooperatives, as well as to strengthen the supply of state public institutions with quality food of Paulista origin. The products acquired, such as milk, fruits and vegetables, and coffee, are destined for schools, universities, and prison units, bringing the countryside closer to public policies and generating direct impact on the income of the producing families.
