The Eid Holiday Season Will Cause a Shortage of Crab in April 2023

Despite the increase in demand from the US market, the producers of processed crab meat have postponed the contract delivery schedule to May 2023 in anticipation of a reduced supply of raw materials in early April 2023. Apart from natural factors which caused a decrease in crab catches this 2023 compared to 2022, it was also due to the Eid holiday season. The traditional fishermen generally take one week off from fishing before and one week off after the Eid festive celebration. This 2023's Eid celebration will fall on the third week of April.
