Every shrimp exporter from Malaysia must obtain a Certificate in Critical Control of Hazard Analysis (HACCP) from the Ministry of Health Malaysia before the shrimp is exported. This is to meet the needs of international trade and the World Trade Organization (WTO) for the shrimp quality. With an average landing of 100K - 120K MT / year, Malaysia currently exports shrimp to Japan, Europe, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.
