South African Citrus Growers Association Eyes Revival of Exports to Iran After BRICS Inclusion

The South African Citrus Growers Association (CGA) is hopeful that citrus exports to Iran might recommence following the invitation extended to Iran to join the BRICS bloc, currently consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. According to CGA, it was not long ago that South Africa exported 45 thousand metric tons (mt) of fruit to Iran. However, in 2022, there were no exports.
