Turkiye's agricultural sector achieved the highest January export value of all time with USD 2.875B. Agricultural exports, which increased by 12.8% in January 2023 compared to the same period of 2022, made up a share of 14.8% from Turkiye's total foreign sales. Exports of cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products reached USD 990M, fresh fruit and vegetables USD 325M, dried fruits and products USD 128M, and olives and olive oil USD 120M, reaching the highest January figures of all time. Despite the geopolitical risks, the dominance of supply concerns and the difficulty in accessing food globally, especially after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Turkish agricultural sector continued its effective foreign trade policy despite the protectionist policies of some countries.
