US dairy industry recovering from COVID lows

US dairy farmers are feeling better about the current situation of the industry compared to the chaos in March and April when they were forced to dump excess milk supply as prices were cut in half. Limited foodservice and restaurant demand were the primary causes, but as restaurants have reopened and are offering takeout, the market is recovering. In addition, the increase in people working from home has given rise to retail milk sales by 10% as consumers are eating more meals at home.
