Indian cardamom substitutes the supply from Guatemala in South African market

India is now the largest supplier of cardamom to South Africa. Guatemalan cardamoms exports to South Africa rebounded with a significant jump after a sharp decline since 2015 followed by a downward trend owing to the expansion of Indian exports. Guatemala still leads the global export market and controls more than 70% share, occupying the largest import market, Saudi Arabia.
