Fuji Apple Price Soars in China but Golden Delicious Drop in Export Market

The wholesale price of Fuji apples in China increased by +46.47% YoY which made this commodity sell at 2.35 USD/KG in the first week of December 2021. Prices have increased significantly since last September after previously showing quite low values from June to August. Producers continue to sell Fuji at high prices as they are faced with higher labor costs and a stronger RMB against the USD. Meanwhile, Golden Delicious apples have declined in Italy by -5.48% YoY and South Africa by -5.21% YoY.
