South African Blueberry Prices Skyrocket due to Low Supply

The wholesale price of fresh blueberries in South Africa stood at USD 16.19/kg in W2 of May 2022 which is 120.57% higher WOW. The price of fresh blueberries have dipped to USD 12.43/kg in W3 of May 2022 which is still 64.77% higher YoY. The sharp increase in price is the result of non-existent local blueberry supply coupled with high prices for imported blueberries due to low supply from Southern hemisphere countries during May, June and July.
