Brazilian cassava price increased by 179.64% YoY to USD 1.06/kg. Decreased area plantation by 2.5% YoY to 129.7 thousand hectares driven by the high production costs and producers shifted to more profitable crops. As a result, lower production led to the higher Brazilian cassava price in July 2022.
