The workforce employed in the Brazilian agribusiness sector reached 28.5 million people in the third quarter of 2025, the highest value recorded since the beginning of the historical series (2012), showing that the countryside in Brazil is not only crucial as a generator of foreign exchange, but fundamentally as a creator of employment. The data, which come from the Agribusiness Labor Market Bulletin prepared by Cepea and CNA, indicate that the share of the agricultural sector in the country's total workforce was 26.3% during the period. Compared to the same quarter of 2024, the increase in workers in Brazilian agribusiness was 2.0%, equivalent to 568,850 jobs. This is a figure higher than the evolution of employment at the national level in the period (+1.2%).
