Low Supply of Imported and Domestic Dried Whole Chili Pepper in Indonesia Surges The Price

Indonesian dried whole chili pepper price significantly increased by +194.74% YoY to USD 7.59/kg in W3 Jun-22. The major exporting market, India, has experienced a major pest attack which led to lesser supply and likely affected the Indonesian market. Domestic production of dried whole chili pepper in Indonesia also faced adverse weather resulting in a low supply. Lower supply of imported and domestic market of dried whole chili pepper coincides with the upcoming Eid Ul-Adha pushing the price to skyrocket in June 2022.
