Sesame Seed Prices Drop in China and South Korea

The wholesale price of white sesame seeds in the Chinese market fell -0.52% YoY to 2.17 USD/KG in W3 October 2021. At the same time, the price of sesame seeds also fell in South Korea by -9.43% to 18.97 USD/KG. Although both are the world's top sesame seeds importers, China exports 80% of its sesame seeds to South Korea. The affordable price of Chinese sesame seeds makes South Korea rely more on imports of Chinese sesame seeds, as South Korea's domestic wholesale prices are still higher even though they are falling.
