Imported sweet cherries in China are currently facing stiff competition with the country's domestic supply. This oversupply altogether led to lower wholesale prices. Fresh sweet cherry prices have shrunk -11.43% YoY to USD 18.19 per kg in mid-December 2021. Imports from the US and Canada arrivals coincided with China's domestic peak season, making the lowering of prices inevitable.
