Onion imports of Malaysia has been doubled within 3 years

Pakistan's onion exports reached the highest level in the last 5 years, amounting to 120M USD. Most of the major buyers increasing their demand including Malaysia (+52.91%), Sri Lanka (+67.27%), UAE (+487.71%), Bangladesh (+184.75%), and others. Although Pakistan produces dried onions on a large scale, the country still relies heavily on suppliers such as Afghanistan to meet the demand for fresh onions. Pakistan is the largest exporter of onions to Malaysia. In 2020, the export reached the highest number with 40.9M USD, an increase of +44.66%.
