The wholesale price of the Costa Rican 'elephant ear' root has skyrocketed this year, reaching an all-time high over the past weeks. The price recorded a 133% YoY increase when it stood at USD 2.30/kg. The price of Yautia has been severely impacted by the rising input costs, from high fertilizers prices and the country's rising inflation rate.
