Unreasonable price in South Korea make the country import sesame seeds from China

The price of sesame seeds in China is much more affordable when compared to South Korea, making the country very dependent on China to meet domestic needs. If the increase in the Chinese market in 2020 is only +21.58% and stood at 2.10 USD per KG, in contrast to the high quality South Korean Sesame Seed which jumped more than 90% from last year and was worth 26.66 USD per KG in W4 May 2021. However, demand from South Korea was recorded to have decreased by 13M USD from last year.
