2019/2020 Argentinian wheat campaign destinations

Analyzing the destinations to which unprocessed Argentine wheat was shipped, the following countries were the main ones: Brazil continues as the main buyer absorbing 4.7M tones (40% of the total exported volume, but 8.7% less than what it bought last season). Second came Indonesia buying 2.6M tones (22% of total sales, showing an increase of 36% vs. 2018/19). Third, fourth and fifth place went to Bangladesh, Kenya and Thailand, which together acquired 1.4 Mt of Argentine cereal. The increased sales made to South East Asia can be mainly explained by a drop in Australia’s production which is expected to actually double for the 2020/2021 campaign.
