The Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries has called for biological control of Ectomyelois Ceratonia, one of the most dangerous pests of pomegranate plantations.

In this sense, he urged farmers to start spreading the Trichogramma parasite to limit the damage of the insect of Ectomyelois Ceratonia. Indeed, it causes significant production losses against the limited effectiveness of pesticides used in the fight against this pest.

In addition, the departments concerned by the general directorate of plant health and the control of agricultural inputs have pointed out an increase in the incidence of this disease (Ectomyelois Ceratonia), according to the monitoring operations, launched since mid-April, in cooperation with the agricultural commissions for agricultural development concerned.
