In line with its goal of increasing meat production, Compañía de Tierras Sud Argentino (CTSA) has jumped on the forage beet bandwagon, whose acreage is growing steadily in the country. Of the 600 hectares that were cultivated in the last two years in Argentina, this campaign comfortably surpassed 1,300, which, although it may seem marginal, already yields more than considerable figures for ranchers. The fact is that, compared to green fodder, it allows for greater animal receptivity in the field, which enter the feedlot with more weight. That is why the Santa Marta Ranch of the Company, whose main shareholders are the Italian Benetton family, decided to sow 70 hectares of this crop this year, to which are added another 24 in the Leleque Ranch, in Chubut.
