Ceased demand for Indonesian organic rice worries suppliers

The coronavirus lockdown and import stoppage that have been implemented by the Italian government have caused the demand for organic rice from Indonesia to decrease significantly. Under normal conditions, several rice suppliers claimed that they could routinely export around 2-3 MT of premium-quality organic rice to Italy. This current situation is claimed to have lowered the overall export revenue of these suppliers heading to the second quarter of 2020.
