The Chaco forest industry finally received the green light from the Judiciary which, through its Superior Provincial Court, rejected the request for unconstitutionality against the territorial order and suspended the injunction that had paralyzed all forestry activity since mid-December to date. With 4 votes against 1, the highest judicial body dismissed the claim made by the environmental NGO "Conciencia Solidaria" and the "Parliament of Indigenous and Tribal Nations of the Gran Chaco", and pointed out that the current OTBN -approved by law in 2024- is not responsible for the deforestation in the province. On the contrary, it would be even worse to repeal it. Thus, following the decision formalized in the ruling published on February 10, Law 4005-R and its amending law 4125-R will once again be in effect, and the main economic activity of the province -which already estimated losses of 30,000 million pesos per month due to the halt- returns to the field.
