The Spanish government has approved a royal decree-law which extends, until September 30, 2020, the extraordinary measures for the promotion of temporary agricultural work, planned in Royal Decree-Law 13/2020, which established its validity until 30 June. The objective of this extension is to ensure the harvest and guarantee the supply of the entire food chain in order to maintain the production flow. Indeed, this decision follows concerns expressed by farmers who claim that the lack of agricultural workers, including Moroccans, Tunisians, Romanian and Senegalese among others, threatens the production of food this year.
