GAP is Now Must Have for Bangladeshi Agro Exporters

The Ministry of Agriculture says Farmers and Agriculture traders must have Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Certificate to export agro items from now on. The guideline of GAP - a farm assurance program reflecting consumer requirements - has already drafted in line with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements, as Md Nasiruzzaman, secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture said. In the 2019-20 fiscal year, Bangladesh exported agro items worth $862 million while the amount in the previous fiscal year was $904 million.
