COVID-19 and travel bans severely affect the demand for Ly Son garlic

The Covid-19 has caused the consumption of Ly Son garlic (Quang Ngai) to decrease sharply and thus reduced prices. After Quang Ngai province temporarily stopped admitting tourists to the island to prevent the spread of the Covid-19, the consumption of garlic in the domestic market also decreased. The amount of garlic sold decreased by 60-70% compared with the year and the price was 50% lower than 2 months ago. Currently, Ly Son garlic is priced at only 2.57 USD / kg.
