The Brazilian ginger harvest usually lasts from June to mid-November, but will likely be extended this year. The main reason is that at the end of the year, producers are usually already planting the new crops that will be harvested in the next harvest, removing the irrigation system from the already mature ginger, which decreases the quality. But with the weak outlook for this year's ginger export, many farmers are already pointing out that they will not plant ginger next year. Therefore, irrigation can be maintained on mature ginger, keeping good quality until December.
