Brazil exports record of 191,100 tons of beef in August

In August, Brazil exported a record 191,141 tonnes of beef (fresh and processed), representing an increase of 19% compared to the same month of 2019 (160,938 tonnes). The information is from the Brazilian Refrigerators Association (Abrafrigo), which compiled data from the Ministry of Economy, through Secex/Decex. Foreign exchange revenue last month reached USD 753.2 million, up 14% from USD 658.6 million in August last year.

In the accumulated result for the year, total beef exports by Brazil already reach 1.294 million tons, compared to 1.159 million tons until August 2019, a growth of 12% or 139 thousand tons more. Revenue reaches USD 5.4 billion, compared to USD 4.4 billion in the same period in 2019, or a 23% growth.
