Middle East importers in UAE, KSA, Bahrain, and Oman have been suffering from disturbed logistics, weeks with shortages in the market and subsequent overstocks for combined arrivals and price instability, poor quality of the fruit due to delays at origin ,up to 3 weeks in ports, and in transit.
The huge export increase of volumes for certain commodities has also contributed to poor market performance. The Navel Oranges were sold at very low prices at the start of the season due to an extended availability of Egyptian Valencia Oranges and the high volumes of Mandarins were loaded to the middle east.
