Ugandan Government Promoting Organic Farming Due to Increased Global Demand

The Ugandan government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) is promoting the adoption of organic farming in the country. The move is targeting the ever growing domestic and international organic produce market which was valued at USD 178.4B in 2021. The driving force for the increased demand of organic products is growing consumer concerns surrounding food safety, health and environmental sustainability.
