Pakistan, one of the few producers of pine nuts

Pakistan is one of the biggest producers and exporters of pine nuts. There are only a few players in the pine nut production market due to its long maturation period, around 3 years, and manual harvesting. For this reason, the average price of pine nuts in the local Pakistani market is around PKR 8000/kg. The high price makes it less suitable in the regular market, hence resulting in greater exports to specific countries like China where there is high demand.
