The most recent maps from the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) began to signal the return of rain, still punctual, to areas of the Midwest and Southeast of Brazil in the period between 14 and 22 September. Heráclio Alves, a meteorologist at the National Institute of Meteorology, confirms the change in standards, but points out that it is not yet a question of the effective return of the rainy season. "There is still very little to recover from the drought that we are experiencing, but at least it already shows a certain change in the model", he comments.

According to NOAA, during this period punctual rains should occur again in areas of Mato Grosso do Sul, south of Goias and points of Mato Grosso. Regarding volumes, the rains can bring some relief to the coffee producer in some areas of southern Minas Gerais, with volumes between 20 and 25 mm. Volumes just over 25 mm may be registered in Rio de Janeiro as well.

Importante to mention that a new humidity corridor is already beginning to take shape in Rondônia state, which should go down to other areas of Brazil and collaborate with the rainy conditions in the second half of September. However until at least the 25th, rain should be concentrated in the South and the North of the country.

Regarding volumes for the next few days, the Cosmo do Inmet model, signals rains for Rio Grande do Sul for the next 24 hours, with up to 20 mm of precipitation. Santa Catarina also has forecasted occasional rains, but with low volumes.
For the next few days, on Wednesday (16), a new system should enter the west of RS, returning the most significant rain conditions to the state. The tendency is for the system to have the strength to also reach other areas of the state, with precipitation between 20 and 40 mm.

According to the most recent forecasts, a new cyclone bomb is in formation and is expected to cause a wind gale in the South and Southeast between this Monday and Tuesday . "The expectation is for strong gusts of wind over part of the South and Southeast, which can reach 90km / h. In addition, there is a risk of heavy rain in the South Region", it has been commented today. This is a normal condition when there is a pressure drop of at least 24hPa in 24 hours, what is called a" bomb cyclone " then it is formed.

For the South of the country, the forecast indicates strong gusts of wind, which can reach 60 km / h in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina. The most intense winds, up to 90 km / h, should be concentrated between the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul and the south coast of Santa Catarina.
