Saudi Arabia is a new target country for Thai exporters

The visit of the Prime Minister of Thailand created economic opportunities for Thai exporters. This is a great opportunity to build in and expand the diplomatic ties between the two countries, such as business dealings like the 2030 vision Saudi Arabia foods key policy. They have advanced in acquiring "land" to use as a source of rice cultivation for their own country. In particular, Thailand used to be one of the targets of land acquisition for contract farming to produce rice for Saudi Arabia, 10% of non-glutinous rice used to come from Thailand. Thailand also has a potential product to be exported. To illustrate, automotive products and components, food and processed food products, Halal foods, agricultural products, medical hub, and construction materials.

Saudi Arabia is going to be a new market destination for Thai exporters. The trade volume will increase to about USD 5 billion. Thai food manufacturers and exporters have strong institutional support in "halal" food, halal products like canned tuna, fresh fruit, and chicken. Thailand is one of the largest halal product exporters globally and ranks 12th in the world's exporters, third in Asia, and first in ASEAN. In 2021, the export value of Halal products from Thailand will be around USD 27 billion.
