The national sowing progress is today at 99.2% of the 1.4M projected hectares with only a tad over 11K hectares yet to be planted (delayed because of the rains that occurred during the week).

There has been a week-on-week improvement of 5.2% and a year-on-year advance of 2.6%.

In the North East Region, 90% of the crop is already surpassing its flowering stage. Should the first estimated yields of 10 qq/ha be correct, it would mean the worst value for the past 10 years. On the bright side, low yields will probably be of good quality due to a higher concentration of oil.

The rains that were mentioned before managed the comeback, in the central region, of late sowing fields that had suffered from water stress and heat stroke. For the Center-North of Santa Fe, although low height plants are observed, it is expected that such contribution of humidity accompanies the flowering and filling stages.

As for the southern producing region, those rains helped the sunflower to move from an emergence state to a six expanded leaves (V6) state. Water conditions are now between adequate and optimal in more than 90% of the area and, although some weed and insect foci are observed, 100% of the surface presents a condition between normal and excellent.
