The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has highlighted this Thursday the current stability of olive oil prices in the face of the high variability of past campaigns. The Secretary General of Agricultural Resources and Food Safety, Ama Rodríguez, has chaired the 54th session of the sectoral table for olive oil and table olives, in which she analyzed the results of the 2024-2025 campaign and the prospects for 2025-2026, after the collection has begun in the main producing areas. The forecasts for the current campaign point to a slight reduction compared to the previous campaign (-3%) but 24% above the average of the previous four, with a total of 1.37 million tons. The total resources for the entire campaign will likely be 4% higher than those of the previous campaign, so an "adequate functioning of the market and good marketing" is expected by the operators of the sector, both in the domestic market and in exports.
