Taiwan 2020 Lemon season

As of September 2020, Taiwan's lemon harvest area is 2,715 hectares and the output is 48,624 tons, an increase of 3% compared to 2019.
The main lemon producing areas are Pingtung, Kaohsiung and South Pingtung’s harvest area, accounting for 67% of Taiwan’s total. The main variety is Eureka.

Though lemon has annual flowering characteristics and can be used all year round, production is still concentrated in February to March every year.
Flowers are abundant in July to September. With the increased popularity to use lemon in bubble tea industry, the planting area is increasing gradually year by year.

The estimated harvest area in 2020 is 2,715 hectares, which is about the same in 2019 of 2,710 hectares; the weather is stable in 2020, the newly planted fields have gradually reached the age, the estimated 2020 output is 48,624 metric tons, which is higher 2019 annual output of 47,091 metric tons increased by 3%, and compared to average annual output of 38,995 metric tons, which increased by 25%.
