The growth of export from the West Sumatra province between January and October 2020

Data released by Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture recently showed that the export volume of agricultural commodities from the West Sumatra province booked a 53% growth in the span of January to October 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic that has slowed down the export growth of agricultural commodities in general. Some of the biggest contributing commodities from this province include cinnamon, palm kernel expeller, and mangosteen with a combined export volume of 432MT. Aside from the growth in export, the exporters from this province have also managed to open new market destinations such as the USA and Canada as part of their expansion to the Northern American region.
