The local farmers in Bali province are currently trying to promote their produced vanilla beans to overseas buyer, with the help of the Ministry of Trade's trading attaches in several countries. This initiative was taken as the vanilla beans industry in this province has been enjoying quite a revival in the past few years with production output of around 2 MT/year since 2017, after a low interest from the local farmers to produce this commodity in the span of 2000 to 2014. Vanilla bean plantations can be found in the eastern part of the province, in Buleleng and Klungkung regencies, with a reported total area of 80 hectares. It is expected that the export of vanilla beans can begin in January 2021, with Australia and New Zealand as the primary market destinations.
