Vietnam's Surimi and Fishmeal Exports Dropped by 52% YoY in Feb-24

In Feb-24, Vietnamese exports of surimi and fishmeal saw a sharp decline, totaling over USD 37 million, a decrease of 52% year-over-year (YoY). Surimi and fishmeal exports to South Korea notably decreased by nearly 38%. Similarly, major markets like Thailand, China, Hong Kong, and Japan also experienced significant export decline, dropping by 51%, 68%, and 74%, respectively, compared to Feb-23. The European market, however, showed a notable increase in Vietnamese exports of surimi and fishmeal, rising by 88% YoY.
