An Egyptian trade mission in Jordan, led by Imad Shehata of the Export Council for Agricultural Crops, aims to increase Egyptian exports to Jordan, which is receptive to Egyptian delegations in the food and agricultural sectors. The Jordanian market is particularly receptive to Egyptian dates, which are currently not produced in Jordan, providing a significant export opportunity. Egypt is the largest global producer of dates and has a strong potential for exporting to various markets, including Japan and Europe, with the right food safety, packaging, and market requirements. The Food Safety Authority in Egypt is supporting companies in reaching these markets.
