As of Tuesday, 432 dry cargo ships have departed from Ukrainian ports with 10.1 million tons of grain, following multilateral agreements signed in Istanbul on July 22 to lift restrictions on Russian product supplies for export and facilitate Ukrainian grain exports. The majority of the grain, six million tons, is exported to European countries, with 21.4% going to Asian countries and 5% to needy countries as per the UN. Turkey is planning to process Russian grain, which Putin offers free of charge to needy countries, into products like flour, pasta, and buckwheat, and Russia is prepared to supply grain to the poorest countries, even if it withdraws from the deal.
