In 2020, Turkey achieved a 23% increase in pomegranate exports, reaching a high of $126.6 million and exporting to 75 countries. The quality of Turkish pomegranates, which are known to boost the immune system, played a significant role in this success. The pandemic also contributed to the demand for pomegranates. Russia was the leader in imports with $44.5 million, followed by Germany with $15.2 million. Other significant importers included Iraq, Ukraine, and the UK. With stable climate conditions in 2021, exports are expected to grow.
