The Ministry of Agriculture in Indonesia has approved the export of grapefruits from Egypt, adding to the country's successful agricultural exports despite the challenges of the Corona pandemic. In 2020, Egypt's citrus exports reached 1.5 million tons, making it a global leader in citrus exports. The Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt also announced the opening of 11 new markets for agricultural products and the signing of a protocol for the export of Egyptian mangoes to the US. The total agricultural exports for the year amounted to 5.06 million tons, generating over 2.1 billion dollars. The main exports included citrus fruits, potatoes, onions, beets, pomegranates, grapes, mango, garlic, strawberries, beans, guava, and peppers.
