The Bulgarian Association of Raspberry and Berry Growers (BAM-Ya) discussed the challenges faced by raspberry growers in 2020, including water delays, drought, and climate change, which led to lower yields and quality. The pandemic further complicated matters by affecting labor availability. BAM-Ya is advocating for mechanized processes and a special scheme for fruit and vegetable compensation in abiotic, climatic conditions. The lack of a hail radar in regions without hail protection and the reduction in raspberry yields due to climate change were also highlighted. For 2021, BAM-Ya wishes for health, success, optimism, and solidarity.
