The U.S. export of grains in all forms (GIAF) reached a record high during the 2020/2021 marketing year, with a 28.3% increase from the previous year, totaling 129.5 million metric tons. This recovery was driven by a surge in corn and sorghum exports, especially to China, and a significant increase in barley and DDGS exports to Mexico and Canada. Despite the impact of COVID-19 on global ethanol trade, U.S. ethanol exports experienced its fifth-largest year on record. The U.S. Grains Council will continue to promote the quality, reliability, and value of U.S. coarse grain products and ethanol in the 2021/2022 marketing year.
