The article reports on the success of Turkey's hazelnut exports in the 2023-2024 season, which saw a 30.86% increase in revenue compared to the previous season, reaching 2.349 million dollars from the sale of 303 thousand 458 tons of hazelnuts. The quality of Turkish hazelnuts and the challenges faced by competitors have been key factors in their increased popularity in the global market, with exports made to around 130 countries. Despite the EU being Turkey's primary market, the most significant growth has been observed in Far Eastern countries, especially China. The upcoming 2024-2025 season aims to build on this success, with efforts being made to diversify export markets and improve yield and pest issues in traditional hazelnut-growing regions.
