The Tanzanian government has invested over Shs 300 billion in the past three years to support cashew inputs, aiming to increase the number of farmers and improve the reliability of the farmer registration system. Minister of Agriculture, Hussein Bashe, highlighted the importance of identifying producers and managing the registration system to prevent input losses. The 2023/2024 cashew production season saw yields exceed 300,000 tons. Regional leaders and stakeholders have commended the government's efforts in transforming agriculture from a subsistence activity to a business-oriented sector.
