In 2020, the Khuzestan Fisheries in Iran successfully produced and released 6 million native fish fry, including various species such as Bani, Barzam, Shirbat, Anzeh, and Gatan, with a harvest of 16,840 tons. This initiative, aimed at restoring aquatic resources, was carried out from the breeding centers of Shahid Maleki and Sosengard, with a significant 90% increase in the number of fish released in the first half of the year compared to the previous year. The project not only aims to increase aquatic production and promote fishing but also provides employment and enhances the livelihood of the region's residents. Additionally, Suri emphasized the importance of regulating water rights and regulating illegal fishing practices to ensure the sustainable growth and reproduction of native aquatic life, particularly in the face of drought and water quality issues.
