Alejandro Brown is convinced that producing and conserving are not opposing paths. President and founder of the Fundación ProYungas, he has been working for over 25 years to demonstrate that agricultural production can, and should, be an ally of nature.
From his role, which he himself defines as that of an "articulator," he promotes a model that seeks to integrate the environmental, social, and productive aspects in the territories where a large part of Argentina's future is at stake: the Northern Region.
"I come from the technical academic area of CONICET and the university, and for 25 years we have formed ProYungas with the idea of influencing, with human resources and information, public policies and private decisions, in linking the productive with the environmental," Brown summarizes.
He does not feel comfortable in extremes. "I love transversality. Where I am comfortable is when different perspectives, experiences, and points of view can converge. If I had to define myself, I would define myself as an articulator..."
