From today until Sunday, October 12, a drop in nighttime temperature, of light to moderate intensity, is expected in the southern sierra of the country. Additionally, wind gusts with speeds close to 40 km/h, sparse cloudiness, and an increase in temperature during the day are expected.
For today, minimum temperatures of around 5 °C are forecast in localities located above 3000 m above sea level, and values close to –14 °C in areas above 4000 m above sea level.
The regions under alert are Arequipa, Moquegua, Puno, and Tacna. The National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (Senamhi) recommends that the population stay informed about the evolution of weather conditions and act with caution when engaging in outdoor activities due to possible risks from the temperature drop.
