Ukraine faced a potato shortage and significant price increases in the 2024 season due to a poor harvest and the ongoing war, leading to increased imports from Turkey, Poland, and the Netherlands. The price of most vegetables on the Ukrainian market rose again in 2025, with notable increases in the price of onions and tomatoes due to increased demand. The quantity and quality of several other crops, including cabbage, apples, grapes, and potatoes, decreased significantly, leading to a need for imports. Experts anticipate that the supply of most fruit and vegetable items on the Ukrainian market in 2025 will be formed by domestic production, while the Minister of Agricultural Policy acknowledged the increase in prices of dairy products, potatoes, and bread.
